Preserving Intellectual Property

Electronic Evidence Labs

Corporate executives possess unique knowledge and access to intellectual property, financial/pricing strategies, internal structure and client lists. Managerial, sales and IT personnel share access to some or all of this information – representing the most valuable assets within a corporation. When these employees switch jobs, sometimes a copy of this information also leaves with them. Computers remain the preferred weapon of choice for employees with malfescence on their mind, while criminals have an array of new hardware at their disposal for concealing information. Corporations are also susceptible to wrongful termination actions from former employees – knowing that critical information related to the termination has likely been destroyed or lost in a maze of electronic data.

It is possible to curtail losses associated with illicitly transferred intellectual property. Integreon can provide corporations with the protection and security that is needed to prevent this type of drain on corporate resources.

To help preserve a corporation’s proprietary information, Integreon’s Electronic Evidence Labs™ (EELabs™) has developed a unique service that engages with corporate legal, human resources and security personnel. Whenever an employee departs, the computer forensics professionals at Integreon take the following steps:

  • Make a forensic image of the employee’s computer hard drive
  • Return the original hard drive for reuse, along with a forensically-sound mirror image of that employee’s computer data for storage and future reference
  • If preferred, Integreon can retain the hard drive image for storage on our network, ensuring ready access and - if necessary - analysis

The loss of intellectual property - in any form - constitutes one of the largest hazards facing corporate security today. Integreon has the tools, expertise and a commitment to teamwork required to address this serious internal issue.
