Integreon acquires UK-based Brahmy Solutions
July 7, 2005, London: Integreon, a leader in knowledge, content and document services outsourcing, today announced the acquisition of Brahmy Solutions, a Knowledge Services outsourcing company located in the UK and India. The acquisition expands Integreon’s Knowledge Services capabilities offshore and increases its program management and sales presence in the European market. It also adds the management and analyst resources Integreon requires to capitalize on the rapid growth projected for the Knowledge Services sector (also known as Knowledge Process Outsourcing or “KPO”) and to meet expanding demand from existing customers for higher value-added services. This full entry into Knowledge Services follows six years of rapid growth in Integreon’s information, content, document, graphics and media outsourcing businesses.
With the Business Process Outsourcing (BPO) industry extremely optimistic about the growth of Knowledge Services, start-up companies have proliferated in the past two years. Liam Brown, CEO of Integreon, said “after an exhaustive search in Europe, US and India, we chose Brahmy Solutions because its executive team shared the same focus on a single core domain and commitment to quality that have formed the foundation of Integreon’s success.”
Knowledge Services is the fastest growing sector in the BPO industry. According to the National Association of Software and Service Companies (NASSCOM), the KPO sector in India may reach $15.5 billion by 2010, up from $1.2 billion now. As the sector matures and new services are defined, this projection could eventually reach $50 billion.
Knowledge Services is also widely considered the most attractive investment opportunity in offshore outsourcing. A recent study by Baring Private Equity Partners found that Knowledge Services generate approximately twice the revenue per hour when compared to other outsourced services, with similar capital investment per seat.
Brown added that “while KPO is at the hype stage of the cycle, we see Knowledge Services as strategically important to our plan to provide end-to-end services to our customers. We look deeper than inflated valuations and projections to determine whether an acquisition is a good organizational fit.” For example, Integreon acquired Contentscape, a graphics and media business, in 2003. Brown said “the capabilities that we expanded through the Contentscape acquisition immediately contributed profitability and have helped us grow organically at 100% per annum. We see the Brahmy acquisition in similar light.”
Hema Gandhi, founder and Managing Director of Brahmy Solutions added, “When we examined our options, we decided that we could grow more quickly by leveraging Integreon’s quality and security practices, HR resources, infrastructure, and brand. We’ve taken care to plan a rapid, seamless merger and expect to generate new business immediately.”
Integreon’s target markets for these services include the equity, fixed income, M&A and information groups of investment banks, asset management houses, hedge funds, private equity houses and consultancy firms.
