Integreon acquires electronic discovery services business from Bowne & Co., Inc. and opens new solutions center in New York to expand legal process outsourcing services
January 24, 2006
Los Angeles, January 24, 2006: Integreon, a leader in knowledge, content and document outsourcing services, today announced the acquisition of the electronic discovery services business from Bowne (NYSE: BNE) for undisclosed terms. Bowne will retain all other components of its Litigation Solutions business, including DecisionQuest®, Case Soft®, and JFS Litigator’s Notebook®.

With this acquisition, Integreon broadens its ability to support lawyers’ electronic data and document management discovery demands. Integreon also announced the opening of a new solutions center in Midtown Manhattan as part of its continued expansion of onshore services.

Discovery is the largest and fastest growing segment of the legal Business Process Outsourcing (BPO) market, also known as Legal Process Outsourcing, or LPO. With this acquisition, Integreon positions itself to expand its BPO business among more than 20 blue-chip law firm and corporate legal customers. Integreon currently provides offshore document production and knowledge services to some of the most prestigious global law firms.

Integreon will provide discovery project consulting and management and data analysis services locally in New York, Chicago and Los Angeles. Document imaging and printing and electronic discovery functions, such as native file conversion, document hosting and online redaction review, will be delivered from the company’s New York solution center. Coding and document review will be provided by Integreon’s wholly owned, ISO-certified operations in Mumbai, India, staffed by U.S. paralegals and Indian law school graduates.

“Our legal BPO services have enjoyed great success serving the large, rapidly growing legal services market. For instance, the Electronic Document Discovery segment alone is estimated at almost $1.5 billion today, with 30% per year growth projected over the next five years. Last year, our board made the strategic decision to invest in technology and onshore services acquisitions in the legal market, particularly. While many offshore BPOs are expanding their capabilities horizontally in pursuit of scale, we are focusing on supporting the markets in which we have already built a reputation for quality service”, said Liam Brown, Integreon president and CEO.

“We’re very excited to offer our customers a full set of discovery services in-house, under one roof in the U.S. and offshore”, said Marcia Goldenberg, now Integreon’s vice president of Business Development – Discovery Support Services. “We will leverage this level of control and scalability to offer our customers superior quality and faster turnaround, especially for large, complex engagements.”
