Law Firms Now Outsourcers?

by Ron Dappen on February 20th, 2010 at 6:00 pm : Comments 000

With all the news about legal process outsourcing, do US and UK law firms need a strategy or position on legal outsourcing? That’s the question Integreon’s Ron Friedmann addresses in his 20 Feb 2010 article, Law Firms Now Outsourcers?, at LLRX.com. In it, he examines a recent outsourcing announcement by Eversheds and a recent LPO article by two Mayer Brown lawyers. He concludes that “clients want lower legal costs and it’s clear that shifting work location and improving processes achieve that result” so firms should at least be receptive to working with legal outsourcers.

Integreon Completes Acquisition of Leading Electronic Evidence Solutions Provider ONSITE3

by Ron Dappen on May 1st, 2009 at 9:53 am : Comments 000

LOS ANGELES, May 1st, 2009 – Integreon, the global leader of Knowledge Process Outsourcing (KPO) in the legal industry, today announced it has successfully completed its acquisition of the E-Discovery assets of Washington, D.C.-based ONSITE3, a leading provider of electronic evidence solutions for law firms and corporations. Terms of the transaction were not disclosed.

The E-Discovery operations of ONSITE3 have been merged with Integreon’s current E-Discovery business and the combined operations will account for nearly half of the firm’s projected $80 million revenues this year, up from $35 million in 2008. The merger significantly increases the scale of Integreon’s litigation support business, has added in-house forensics and data analytics capabilities, and given the firm eViewTM , a widely-used proprietary document review platform.

Integreon is also the world’s largest provider of onshore and offshore litigation document review from review centers in New York, Fargo, ND, Mumbai and Gurgaon (India), and Manila (Philippines).

“Integreon’s size and scale in E-Discovery gives us a major competitive advantage,” said Integreon CEO Liam Brown. “In addition to our ability to provide a one-stop litigation support solution, our financial strength and stability assures our longevity and our ability to weather the economic downturn. We plan additional acquisitions in the months ahead as the legal knowledge process outsourcing continues to consolidate.”

The ONSITE3 E-Discovery acquisition is the latest in a series of strategic onshore domestic US deals Integreon has completed since 2006, including the acquisitions of Datum Legal in 2008, a leading New York litigation support and electronic data discovery (EDD) company; CBF Group, Inc. in 2007, a Fargo, ND-based KPO company exclusively focused on enterprise services to law firms; and Bowne & Co.’s New York Digital Litigation Support business in 2006.

Integreon has grown from 12 employees in one office in New York City with one client and less than $200,000 in revenues in 2001 to almost 2,000 employees and 11 offices worldwide serving over 100 leading law firms, investment banks, and corporations today. The company is owned by management and Ayala Corp., the leading conglomerate in the Philippines.

Integreon Plans To Acquire ONSITE3

by Ron Dappen on February 5th, 2009 at 12:22 pm : Comments 000

LOS ANGELES, CA (February 5, 2009) – ONSITE3, a leading global provider of electronic evidence solutions for law firms and corporations, today announced that it has filed for reorganization under Chapter 11 of the bankruptcy code, and that it plans to be acquired by Integreon, the global leader of knowledge and legal process outsourcing (KPO and LPO). The Company also announced today that Integreon has completed the acquisition of ONSITE3’s outstanding pre-bankruptcy secured debt and has agreed to provide debtor-in-possession financing to assure ONSITE3’s continued operation throughout the reorganization process.

Robert Ballou, CEO of ONSITE3, said,

“Integreon’s planned acquisition of ONSITE3’s electronic discovery business will create an unrivaled end-to-end ‘enterprise’ set of litigation and compliance services for law firms and corporations under one roof. The expanded scope will include forensics and collection, proprietary E3(TM) processing and eView(TM) hosted review applications, and will be coupled with Integreon’s onshore and offshore document review.

“Our plan is to focus on our growing e-discovery business. We will close our declining paper discovery support operations, but preserve the continuity of our e-discovery operations around the U.S. We plan to immediately transition paper projects to other vendors, allowing us to focus on the core electronic offerings that our clients value most.”

Liam Brown, CEO of Integreon, said,

“The comprehensive range of ONSITE3’s electronic discovery services and proprietary technologies dovetail well with our document review capability and significantly increases the scale and U.S. footprint of our own EDD capabilities.

“This planned transaction will result in the creation of a $40 million national electronic discovery division of Integreon with industrial-scale processing centers in Washington, DC and New York City, along with review centers in the U.S., India and the Philippines.”

About ONSITE3
