Research Workflow Coordinator

Position Profile

Key Objective

The purpose of this position is to manage global workflow for BIS at a leading financial institution. Manages clients expectations regarding their requests by communicating via email and phone.

Position Objectives

  • Manages queue for group using BIS workflow tool. Clarifies requests, confirms deadlines, prioritizes work and manages client expectations around expected deliverables. Assigns requests to onshore staff when appropriate
  • Assigns jobs to the offshore team to complete and communicates with the offshore team on a regular basis regarding workflow
  • Supports projects requiring news, market research, financial filings and statistical data from other commercial databases, government agencies and industry associations
  • Manages a consistently volume of research requests and monitors project time based on complexity level of each project. Delivers actionable results in a structured format that meets or exceeds the clients expectations
  • Provides research support by answering quick turnaround requests
  • Assists internal clients with data systems
  • Backup to offshore staff and Information Specialists depending on demand, volumes and staffing levels
  • This position is also required to complete specialized duties or projects as assigned.

Previous Experience Requirements

  • Skills and experience to be able to produce secondary research and analysis in a business research setting. Broad knowledge of standard secondary research sources, financial data services and corporate documents
  • Understanding of global investment banking and capital markets
  • Ability to apply source knowledge to research projects that produce complete, cost effective results
  • Communication skills required to deliver research findings to client staff as well as demand manage client expectations in an efficient manner

Educational Requirements

  • BA/BS required. Masters in Library and Information Science, Business/Finance, or other relevant specialty desirable.
