LOS ANGELES, March 22, 2010 — Integreon today announced that it was named as a respondent in a writ petition filed before the Madras High Court by the Association of Indian Lawyers. The petition, which names Integreon and 31 global law firms as respondents, is seeking to prohibit foreign law firms from practicing law in India. As a premier provider of legal process outsourcing (LPO) services globally, Integreon does not engage in the practice of law in any jurisdiction through its service offerings and believes that its inclusion in the petition is without merit.
Integreon was the only LPO company and non-law firm named in the petition. “It is unfortunate that our size and clear leadership position in the LPO market has made us the LPO target for the petitioner,” stated Liam Brown, CEO of Integreon. “We were surprised to hear that our range of LPO services, such as document review, e-discovery, contract management and other legal support services could be confused with the practice of law.”
