Integreon’s recent acquisition of Grail Research has received considerable attention from international news media. Over 50 news sites and publications from around the world have picked up on the announcement from the Los Angeles-based global provider of knowledge and legal process outsourcing solutions.
In the company’s press release (November 10, 2009), Integreon CEO Liam Brown states that the “acquisition accelerates the expansion of our business intelligence, research and analytics business with high-end, custom market research for our investment banking, law firm and corporate clients.”
The following are a few examples from the news media coverage:
The Business Standard, which attended the company’s press conference on
November 10, 2009 at its facilities in Mumbai, India, reported (November 12, 2009),
“This is one of the largest acquisitions in the research space. It catapults Integreon as the leading player in the KPO segment … [and] also reinforces the trend of signing big contracts in the KPO industry and the continued trend of captives getting sold,” said Lokendra Tomar, Chief Operating Officer, Integreon.
With the acquisition of Grail Research, Integreon plans to enter the China market. “Our immediate focus will be ramp up of the China operations. It currently has 20 people there. With Grail, we also get capabilities in 35 different languages, including Chinese, Japanese and Korean,” added Tomar.
The Financial Chronicle, which also interviewed Tomar, wrote (November 10, 2009),
Apart from the acquisition, Integreon has also won a five-year contract for providing research services from Monitor Group. Tomar declined to provide financial details of the acquisition or the deal. He, however, said Integreon expects to see total revenue of over $100 million in calendar year 2010, including the acquisition. In 2009, the revenue is seen at a run-rate of $80 million, up from $35 million in 2008.
Finally, the Wall Street News Letter (subscription required) reported (November 12, 2009) that client demand was already high in Asia and in the US and UK for Integreon’s and Grail’s respective research services, and that Asia (with expectations that it will account for half the global GDP by 2030) represents a strategic market for the now combined operations of the two companies.
Other examples of the news coverage on Integreon’s acquisition of Grail Research include CXO Today, Daily Research News Online, Economic Times, Research Magazine, Stock Watch, The Hindu Business Line, The Orange Rag, and The Philippine Star, among several dozens of other publications and blogs that also covered the story.
