Slaughters in talks over outsourcing plans

The Lawyer reports in Slaughters in talks over outsourcing plans (by Kit Chellel, October 5, 2009) that top UK law firm Slaughter and May is considering the move to legal process outsourcing (LPO), in response to client pressure to “embrace alternative models”. Osborne Clarke managing partner Simon Beswick commented that this move is a “watershed moment” for the UK legal industry. The Lawyer contacted Linklaters, Freshfields Bruckhaus Deringer, and DLA Piper too;  all three confirmed they are also considering outsourcing options. The article cites Integreon, Exigent, and Office Tiger as “LPO specialists [that] have sprung up to meet demand.”  We were delighted to be mentioned but note that we have been in business over one decade and offering legal outsourcing services for five years so are not new to the market.
