Key Objective :-

Our Research Services business unit provides research and decision support to help organizations answer their most important business questions. It is comprised of two divisions, and the role on offer is with the division that helps organizations gather customized market and competitive intelligence insights needed to enter new markets, launch products, make strategic investments, etc. The primary activities and deliverables to these clients are in the form of customized and highly synthesized insights delivered by knowledgeable professionals.

Our work environment is fast-paced and our approach is continuously evolving. Our clients range widely across many sectors including consumer goods, high-technology, life sciences, professional services (law, banking and consulting) and others.

The purpose of this position is to support with some of the data management and analysis tasks that are currently performed by a Research Manager. The role will be based on-site at the client location, with the occasional need to travel to our offices for meetings.

Position Objectives Expectations :-

Specific duties will include;

• Extract and analyze information from data sources used by the client and use the inputs to create various marketing and budgeting reports.

• Quickly learn and effectively manage the various MS Excel based reporting models used, which will include ensuring the latest data is used and making any modifications that may be required – based on guidance from the Marketing Manager.

• Support with the monitoring and data cleaning activities related to specific knowledge management systems and research workflow tool, covering both qualitative and quantitative inputs.

• Review knowledge assets and research outputs, and effectively summarize these into standard report overview templates.

• Take ownership for the creation of the regular reports, extracting the required data regularly and updating relevant reports. This will be based on the training and initial guidance provided on the job.

• Conduct and deliver high-level analyses as well as extend other ad-hoc support as required.

• Work with other team members and liaise with stakeholders when required (in-person and remotely), to confirm inputs and get clarification on data gathered.

• Sense check data extracted from the various sources for potential errors / anomalies, based on inputs / guidance shared by the Marketing Manager.

Personal Success Characteristics :-

• Strong detail orientation in all work, ability to multi-task effectively, and good analytical skills.

• Strong knowledge of MS Excel, including coding and creation of Macros.

• Ability to work effectively with the broader MS Office suite of tools, especially MS PowerPoint and MS Word. Excellent verbal and written English skills a must.

• Knowledge of primary research methodologies and ability to interpret / cull insights from research outputs a plus.

• A self-starter with ability to work independently.

• Experience working in tobacco industry preferred.

• This position will also need to maintain confidential information.

• This position must also show initiative and good judgment, function well under pressure, be able to switch gears on a moment’s notice as well as the ability to concentrate in an environment of multiple demands. Demonstrated flexibility and responsiveness are a plus.

Educational Requirements :- Minimum of bachelor’s degree.
Previous Experience Requirements :-

• Must have experience of effectively supporting senior stakeholders with standard and ad-hoc report generation (from various internal and external data sources), which are business critical, quick turnaround, and require a great attention to detail.

• Experience of quickly learning about processes, systems, and MS Excel based analytical models for performance reporting across multiple markets and regions.

• Experience dealing directly with clients and internal stakeholders to address their needs and questions through simple analyses and quick, accurate information extracts.

• Experience with review and quality-checking of data captured in systems, and liaising with stakeholders to correct data.

• Experience of reviewing and creating qualitative insight summary documents based on research reports.

• Must have successfully performed a similar role in the past for at least 2 years, preferably in a FMCG / tobacco-related company.
